Summer Concert and change for next year!
Welcome to the website of Lutterworth & District Choral Society (informally Lutterworth Choral). We enjoyed a storming end to the choir year with another uplifting summer concert at St. Peter’s Church, Claybrooke. The large and enthusiastic audience were treated to a diverse range of choral classics from “The Armed Man” to “My Fair lady”. The musical tone was elevated by the participation of a superb string quartet, assembled by our very own, multi-talented Sam Giles! Videos should shortly appear in the Member’s Area and on YouTube.
It is with a very heavy heart that we report that our much-loved Music Director Sarah Stephens will be moving on after our Christmas Concert on December 6th. The Choir has gone from strength to strength under her direction and the Committee is tasked with the huge task of finding a replacement, something we will be spending the summer doing. For anyone interested in the upcoming vacancy, see the advert at the bottom of this page.
We still have two further concerts with Sarah to look forward to, Verdi’s “Requiem” (jointly with Leicester Philharmonic and Market Harborough Choral Society) on October 11th and our tradtional Christmas concert at St. Mary’s, Lutterworth.
Information about the new term will follow but the first actual rehearsal will be on September 15th at the usual venue of Lutterworth Methodist Church.
